Welcome to the Celebrate Careers web site. In 2008, we honored the 100 year anniversary of career guidance and education at four national events: National Association of State Directors of Career Technical Education Consortium Spring Meeting in April; the National Career Development Association Global Conference in July; the American Psychological Association Annual Convention in August; and the Association for Career and Technical Education Annual Convention in December.
The 100 Year Celebration Steering Committee would like to thank all those that participated in and promoted the celebration. Your support allowed us to share our statement of beliefs with a broad audience and advocate for the role and importance of career and technical education in helping students and adults find future success, and ultimately creating the workforce of America.
In 1908, Frank Parsons established the first vocational guidance clinic and outlined the basic principals of vocational guidance, cementing him as the founding father of vocational psychology. One hundred years later, we honored his work and the contribution of other renowned leaders that have guided the field of career guidance, education, and development.
We look forward to many more years of innovation, improvement, and utilization of career and technical education.
Sincerely,
The 100 Year Celebration Steering Committee
